As we round off our Lunar New Year theme, our week has been filled with creativity, exploration, and adventure! Despite some turbulent weather, our little adventurers have embraced the outdoors, embarking on mammoth adventure walks to discover even more of our beautiful forest.
π¨ Dragon Creations & Crafty Fun
Our adventurers collected natural materials on their walks to weave their own dragons, tying string and manipulating stems to craft wings. We also practiced origami by making fold-out paper dragons, decorating them with bright colours and intricate patterns to bring them to life!
ποΈ Chinese New Year Crafts
This week, we got creative with repurposed paper plates, turning them into beautiful fans using paint and lollipop sticks. We also made Year of the Snake masks, embracing the theme with bold and playful designs.
π₯ Playdough Feasts & Traditional Foods
Our little chefs got hands-on with playdough dumplings, imagining different fillings and practicing different folding techniques inspired by traditional Lunar New Year feasting. It was a wonderful way to blend sensory play with cultural learning!
β Maths & Mark-Making Adventures
We focused on maths skills, using our cherry blossom counting tree to practice sums. With graph paper, toys, and even our fingers, we explored different ways to count and visualise numbers.
Itβs been a fantastic way to finish our Lunar New Year theme, combining learning, creativity, and plenty of outdoor fun.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
