This week at Little Forest Folk Winkworth our Little Forest Folk-ers have been living, breathing and in some cases… eating stories! If you heard the shrieking and squealing from London we wouldn’t be surprised - everyone has had so much fun making classic stories come alive!
Twickenham - Touching, Feeling, Seeing and Hearing
We have had a glorious week of exploring the forest through our senses and extending our vocabulary. Sticky, orange, ooblek with its combined dribblyness and stiff qualities, perplexed and excited our curious minds. We also enjoyed tweezer work with natural elements like smooth conkers, rough pine cones, small, hard, ash keys, small greenish acorns and soft feathery grasses.
Wimbledon Village - Continuing Our Farm Theme and Forest Horses

Fulham - What a ride we’ve had this week at Little Forest Folk Fulham! 🚜🚌✈️🚦
Chiswick - Autumn Transformation in the Forest
Art continued to bloom through leaf printing, where the children pressed their chosen leaves onto paper to reveal the intricate vein patterns and outlines. Their excitement at seeing the prints emerge was infectious and the prints themselves were stunning, each one a unique celebration of nature’s detail.
Chiswick - Creativity, Imagination and Animal Adventures
Fulham - The Most Colourful and Cosy Season
Morden - Personal, Social and Emotional Development
We set off on plenty of adventure walks, exploring the woods together and discovering the beauty of nature around us. Along the way, we gathered information about plants, observed the changing seasons and even enjoyed some bird watching - spotting and learning about different types of birds in our environment. 🦢🦜
Twickenham - Puppet shows, Painting and Playing
Little Forest Folk Putney -Movement and Sensory Play & Emotional Regulation
Wimbledon Village - Farm to Plate and Fruit Pizza
Our explorers have considered what could be used as bedding in a stable for a horse, created stables of their own using recycled junk modelling materials, coloured in a chicken using egg shaped chalks and helped to remove bugs from ‘Poor Sammy’s’ tummy after he ‘picked and licked’! All great activities for farm discussions and hygiene around food.
