Twickenham - Chinese New Year Celebrations

Ni Hao, everyone!

The glorious sunshine graced us with a shimmering forest floor and sparkling logs amidst the freezing, cold weather. Our week was jam packed with adventure walks, observing frozen lakes (frozen puddles!), and celebrating Chinese New Year!

This week, we sang our Hello Song in Chinese, read a lot of books about the vibrant Chinese culture, and learnt about their delicious food and vibrant festivals.

We could not let this Chinese New Year celebration go by without doing the traditional dragon dance. We created our own dragon by using an old recycled box, painted red for good luck. We added stick horns on top, and cut out two circles for the eyes and then used some recycled fabric for its body. Our Little Forest Folk-ers took turns going underneath the dragon head and body to dance and follow the rhythm of the drumbeats that our friends were making!

Kung Hei Fat Choy, lovely people of the forest! We will see you soon!
