Wandsworth - Goldilocks and The Three Bears!

What have we done to deserve such glorious weather this week!?

On Monday, we moved our setup around at Paradise Gardens, to allow for activities to take place in the shadier parts of the gardens. We enjoyed swinging on a tree swing underneath one of the big trees! To encourage fair sharing, we created a pretend ticketing system, which allowed the children to understand whose turn it was, and whose turn it would be next, this meant that everyone had an equal amount of turns on the swing.

Over at Wimbledon Common, we have appreciated the natural canopy that this site gives us and we have all very much enjoyed playing in the shade. We filled up our water tank and had a wonderful time digging up a dinosaur river. Here we bathed a T-Rex and tested whether a Diplodocus floats! (It does! Can you believe it!?)

On our adventure walk on Thursday, we stumbled across a house in the forest. A house with no one in it. A house that had 3 bowls and 3 spoons. A small, medium and large bowl and a small, medium and large spoon! It was the house that belonged to the Three Bears! This led to a wonderful opportunity to role play the “Goldilocks” story! A big thank you to Educator Dan for setting up this truly magical adventure walk for the children.

We have had a super week; the sun and the forest being lit up with sunshine really is good for the soul!

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you next week for some more forest fun!
