This week we’ve been enjoying lots of al fresco dining! To encourage our little ones with their independent eating we have been using knives and forks in lots of interesting ways, from scooping and cutting to painting and role-play. 

We’ve been celebrating a lot of change in the forest this week. Autumn is in the air and we have so many new adventurers who we’ve been getting to know.

This week in the forest has been a mix of all weathers, and all adventures!

We’ve had another glorious few days of sunshine in the forest which has been the perfect setting for our older children in their final week before setting off on the next stage of their adventure at big school!

It’s been another fantastic week in the forest with all our adventurers & they have gotten up to all sorts of fun, which we are excited to share with you all. 

This week in the forest we’ve been exploring the magic of Disco! Our Little Forest Folk-ers certainly love to boogie and this has been the perfect opportunity to hone our letter recognition skills.

We have had so much fun this week in the forest, learning about all the brilliant life cycles of creatures and plants we share our forest with. 

With the holiday campers here at Morden this week we’ve been looking at our forest with fresh eyes and have been keenly exploring all the amazing natural life around us.

We had a lot of woodland visitors come to see us in the forest this week which was very exciting! It helped us appreciate the forest even more and made us think about things we can do to make sure the forest is a welcoming place for all.

What an interesting week we had in the forest! As we reflected on our theme of community and the different people who make up our community (including ourselves!) we wanted to express what we’ve learned through the arts, specifically through a puppet show. We decided to make wooden puppets that reflect how we see ourselves.

We’ve been celebrating families and communities this week, and we shared what we enjoy doing together with our families.

We had a lovely time welcoming our special visitors into the forest this week! Our families came to visit the forest and we had a wonderful time showing them our favourite activities.

The forest is looking very lush this week. Our garden, filled with seedlings in the last few weeks, had a sudden growth spurt thanks to the combination of rain and a long period of warm sunshine.

We celebrated the longest day of the year this week with lots of fun filled activities! With the warm weather we’ve been having this week (finally!), we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate Happiness Week. 

This week in the forest, we transported ourselves to school Reception to explore letters and how to write the letters in our name. We are very proud of our names and we wanted to write them on a large canvas using thick brushes and our favourite paints so that they are big, bright and colourful for everyone to see.

We had another amazing week in the forest as we enjoyed the first harvest of the summer. In the forest, we are surrounded by wonderful elder trees which are looking spectacular as their delicate white fronds of flowers entice us with their sweet scent.
