Wimbledon - One giant leap for Little Forest Folk Wimbledon

One giant leap for Little Forest Folk Wimbledon!!

This week in the forest has been filled with so much fun with the bunnies and foxes having a wonderful time focusing on everything space and rockets!

Towards the end of the week, we had a space day! Firstly, everyone enjoyed exploring our books about space, before we set up at our foot rocket. The children set up the 3 rockets onto the machine before taking one ginormous jump and allowing each rocket to launch into the air. We then decided to make our own rockets using conkers! We used our conker holders to keep them still before getting to work using a palm and piñon drill to make holes in the conkers... when the holes were made, we stuffed one end with tissue paper and left one end hanging which made them into conker comets!

We have also been exploring our cultures and communities. We have been looking at a book called “We All Belong” and have enjoyed exploring all our different features and how they differ from each other’s, including hair and eye colour, height and even appearances. The children noticed who had the same coats and hi-vis on. We also spoke about ‘what we belong to’ and the children described that they all belonged to a family, to adults and to the forest

What a lovely week it has been – we hope you enjoy a lovely sunny weekend and look forward to more adventures next week!
