Winkworth - One Stop Valentine Parfumerie!

Love is in the air as well as all the aromas from the One Stop Valentine Parfumerie. Many customers lined up excitedly to wait for their chosen scent of Sweet Sparkle or Forest Fresh.

The process saw the One Stop Valentine Parfumerie workers roll out petals to release the aroma, use different size measuring jugs to measure out the pink water and then use pipettes to add more pink water. Lastly some tweezers were used to add some gorgeous smelling pine to the mix! This was a great sensory experience as well as putting those fine motor skills to great use.

With all the leftover berries, petals and pink water our little explorers decided to make a flag. They used all the materials as a natural dye and they used a hammer to smash the berries and the petals into the white material and then transported pink water over to dye the material pink. We have hung it up to dry and will add our rules to it soon for the children to enjoy in our circle time.

With any water left over, our Little Forest Folk-ers chose to mix this with the sensory tray which was filled with lovely red leaves, pink petals and heart shaped tubes, all combined in a heart made from twigs. They used sticks to mix and play and then added some small world beetles and made it into a bug hotel.

No Valentines Day would be complete without making a card. We added colour to the paint by bashing some red berries to utilise their pigment. Our little adventurers then made a heart shape from an apple and used this to print in the middle. Once dry they got to post this in the Heart-Throb Post-box, but not before attaching a leaf stamp. Our Little Forest Folk-ers love sending out our love and passion for the great outdoors to everyone.

If you went down to the woods at Little Forest Folk Winkworth you would have been in for a BIG surprise as the Gruffalo made a visit. We had Fox’s underground house, Snake’s log pile house, Owl’s tree top house and the Gruffalo cave! The mud kitchen was turned into the Gruffalo’s grotto. This had lots of different materials to explore to make scrambled Snake, Owl ice cream and roasted Fox and Gruffalo crumble. Our Little Forest Folk-ers really enjoyed exploring all the different elements from the book.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and see you next week for more fun in the Forest.
