Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.

On Monday we built a castle using our den building techniques which we’ve practiced previously. Jose, Ben and the children found long logs in the forest and helped put them together to build our castle...
Another glorious week in the forest saw us all exploring variations of our ‘Jack and the beanstalk’ theme. We have had bean and seed artwork, golden egg hunts and lots of conversations about giants!
We brought a wizard’s hat into the forest this week. Role playing with the hat on was the children’s most popular activity of the week. When the children put the wizard’s hat on, they would pick up a stick and miraculously turn into witches!
What a week it’s been! Our highlight, of course was the family barbeque last night so a massive thank you to all that were able to attend! We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we all did :-)
This week Manuel set up our pirate ship in the puddle. The children imagined they were on a real ship and tried their hardest not to fall into the ocean...
Week two of holiday camps has been wonderful! Our theme for the week was ‘woodland warriors’ and we have used our natural resources to create the most beautiful artwork; engaged in using tools and role played being owls and other woodland creatures...
What a fantastic week we have had in the forest! It was the start of our holiday camp weeks and we have all had so much fun getting to know some new faces, and welcoming back some old friends...
The last couple of weeks have been so busy and exciting what with Halloween and fireworks, but this week we shifted our focus back to nature and to all the lovely little spikey animals that live in the forest where we play...
We love the school holidays. Freedom to play and therefore some very excited school age children joining us for fun in the forest. We've had a fabulous Halloween-y week full of creature discoveries and lots of creative play...
Our half term holiday camps are coming up, during which time we are making a one time only exception to our usual requirement for minimum 2 days booking of places for our full day Halloween spook-tacular!
