This week at Little Forest Folk Winkworth we’ve welcomed everyone back and been treated to snow, ice and frosty weather as well as a spot of rain!
Wimbledon Village - A Frosty Welcome Back to the Forest
Wimbledon - A week of Snow, Frost and Ice
Twickenham - A Week of Welcome Back!
Welcome back everyone, we are so pleased to see you all again! The children have been thrilled to return to the back section of our forest as we have moved into a different section for the next 3 months, which will allow our other zone to have a rest from the impact of 20 children per day running around and exploring! Our move also offers us a chance to explore a new area of the forest in a different season.

Chiswick - Celebrating Together at The Christmas Party
Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join us for our Christmas party last week. We had such a wonderful time celebrating together and it was truly special to share the festive joy with our forest families. For those who couldn’t attend, don’t worry - all gifts and creations have been carefully saved and we’ll make sure they are handed out as soon as we see you after the holidays.
Fulham - It's the most wonderful time of the year... 🎶🎄🌟Merry Christmas, everyone!
Morden - Pinecones, Pom Poms and Pipecleaners!
We've had a brilliant time in our last full week before Christmas! Our Morden Little Forest Folk-ers had a lovely time decorating pinecones for Christmas. Using pompoms and pipe cleaners, they turned natural treasures into colourful decorations. It was a simple, happy activity that combined creativity, fine motor skills and loads of communicative language while they played.
Putney Heath -This was another fabulous week in the forest! The children learned about the festival of Hanukkah🕎
children discussed the 8 days of Hanukkah and began making their potato latkes (a traditional Hanukkah treat). First, they shredded the potatoes, then the onion before adding a bit of flour, 1 egg and some salt. Then, they built and tended to the fire before firing off the potato pancakes! They were deeeeeelish! Shoutout to the little chefs!👨🏻🍳
Twickenham - Merry Christmas, Joyous Winter Holidays and Happy New Year!
Wimbledon - Winter Walks and an Abundance of Life & Nature
This week, we have enjoyed lots of fun adventure walks with our educators. One walk was themed all about what can we see? Our educators, Anamika and Olivia, created a musical tune for us to ask and answer this question! We headed out towards the doggy meadow and to our joy we watched many many dogs run round the meadow chasing and playing with each other, some of whom were taller than us! We spotted trees, grass, dogs, fences and even a horse! It was as we went through a holy tree tunnel and turned round, we saw a giant brown horse riding through the common, it was a great delight for many of us as horses are our favourite animals! On another adventure walk, our focus was the mushrooms
Wimbledon Village - A Very Dramatic Week!
Educators have used lots of ‘Panto’ language (“Oh no we haven’t!”) to make the camp feel festive and over the week, we have all thought about what ‘evil plans’ we all might have - all very panto-like! Paula’s evil plan was to give the rest of the staff a box of After Eights, with all the chocolates gone - but with the wrappers still in the box (VERY Evil!) and some of our wonderfully ‘naughty’ children thought about putting ice in Sam’s hood
Winkworth - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Mrs Claus’ bakery has had a lot of customers this week too. Our Little Forest Folk-ers got to work to roll out the gorgeous cinnamon playdough before using different size cookie cutters to make the shapes. They then used natural materials to make the face and the buttons of our little cinnamon people.
