Morden - An Adventure Walk & St David's Day

It’s been a lovely and quick week in the forest!!

We ventured on our second adventure walk this week! Whilst heading up to the common we spotted what was around the neighbourhood and when the Little Forest Folk-ers came back, they were so excited to communicate and express what they had done and seen ‘We had a picnic on the common!’ ‘I saw a big hill and bumped all the way down!’

We also celebrated St David’s Day. We did this by placing some gifted daffodils around the forest for a ‘daffodil hunt!’ The bright yellow caught the adventurers eyes as they looked under crates, tyres and up high in trees and tarpaulins! During our ‘Good morning song’ we changed the words to the Welsh greeting for good morning ‘Bore da!’ and introduced ‘Diolch’ for thank you!

Our letter formation activity spelled out ‘Wales’ and we spoke about who has visited Wales and what we may see if we adventured all the way from London, England to Wales! There was one leading answer: ‘Dragons!’

It was World Book Day on Thursday! Some children chose to dress up as their favourite characters from their chosen books, and those that didn’t dress up got the chance to get their face painted by the fantastic Maria and Nasila. Some children wanted to prowl through the bushes like a tiger 🐯 or float through the forest like a butterfly 🦋, with all the tigers running around the forest we knew the biscuits weren’t safe around tea time!

We look forward to more adventures and fun next week!
