Morden - Mud Kitchen Masterpieces!

This week has been so fun! We’ve enjoyed the milder weather and the chance to welcome some new children and parents into our forest. It has been great showing them the space and introducing them to the team and our little adventurers!

Over the last few days, we have followed on from our theme last week by focusing on the children’s personal social and emotional development. Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been making giant tree cookie emojis, whilst exploring and discussing a wide range of feelings such as feeling loved, confused or overwhelmed. We’ve also made a big, “All feelings are welcome,” rainbow where everyone thought about and discussed the different feelings attributed to our zones of regulation colours.

Every day the children have also been engaging in lots of fun regulating activities with sensory tuff trays full of “snow” and sand with spades and construction vehicles. Our team have also been busy upholding our child-led ethos and have been facilitating child-led projects such as map-making and collage!

As always the mud kitchen has been a big hit with our little adventurers making all sorts of delicious treats for their families and also showing a particular interest in cleaning and washing up which we will support them in exploring next week!

A lovely week of adventures, we hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
