Morden - Rocket ships & Bug Hotels

Another week filled with smiles and laughter showing off all the fun and exciting things the children got up to this week.

The week started off strong with our adventurers going on a mission to travel space in their rocket ships ‘look how fast my rocket can fly’, looking at all of the solar system and recalling all of the planets ‘Mercury, Venus, the moon and Jupiter’.

Maria has been doing a lovely numeracy based activity this week, where the children needed to count out a certain number of gems to match with a corresponding number, ‘1,2,3,4,5’ ‘three gems fit in this petal’ the children loved this more interactive way of learning their key numbers, our little magpies really enjoyed getting to play and count with the shiny gems also.

Bug hunts and adventures are always a favourite in the forest and there was no shortage of bug experts this week, the children have been seeking out some little creatures to try out our new Bug Hotel. ’This snail has a green shell’. Looking under logs and in the mud for snails and worms, practising our kind and gentle hands and helping them move into their new ‘forest style’ rooms ‘keep your hand flat so the worm doesn’t get hurt’.

We hope you all have a fun filled weekend as well & we look forward to seeing you all next week.
