Putney Heath - Diwali Dress Up & A Teddy Bear Picnic

With Diwali quickly approaching, the Little Forest Folk-ers and educators had many celebrations throughout the week. Rangolis were made using natural resources such as sticks and leaves. The children listened to stories about the history of Diwali and also dressed up with masks of Sita, Rama and Ghanesh. One child shared their Diwali books from home as well as bindis for everyone to wear.

Along with the Diwali celebrations, the little ones dove deep into measuring themselves and their surroundings. The children used measuring tapes to determine the lengths of branches, toys and large structures they had built during the day. The children used lots of teamwork through the week!

One of the many highlights from this week was a lovely teddy bear picnic. The little ones brought a very special teddy from home, named them and received a special label just for them. The Little Forest Folk-ers made biscuits and drank tea together, too. It was magical!

With everything going on this week, the children reflected a lot on their team building skills. They are building beautiful relationships and watching their friendships flourish has been truly special.

Everyone at Putney Heath wishes you all a lovely weekend. We will see you next week!
