Morden - Celebrating the cold!

Celebrating the cold!

This week in the Morden Forest we've been celebrating lots about this time of year! To celebrate fireworks night and Diwali, we were using big splashes of colour in all of our crafting this week, and discussing all the things we like to celebrate while doing so!! The children's descriptive language has continued to flourish during our play, and we're loving to listen to all of this new vocabulary popping up!

We've also been tending to our garden again this week, harvesting the final veggies from our crop for this year. We retrieved our big turnips from the ground, and they are beautiful! It was wonderful to see the children so excited to see the produce from all of our care over the last few months for this plant, and we're excited to be harvesting the other ones very soon for cooking, printing, and mashing up to extract the colour for painting!

Our other favourite activity this week has been our forest-made number line! The children have been working hard to saw small 'wood-cookies' which we've then drawn numbers on and attached to our board. The children (carefully supervised) used hammer and nails to hook them in a line! It's looking wonderful, and the children are so happy to be using such great resources which they have made themselves in their play and activities.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to more adventures next week!
