Twickenham - Maths Skills in the Forest

This week we have a very fun and sunny week in the Twickenham forest! We are so grateful that the glorious sun has returned this week and have made the most of our outdoor adventures!

We have spent the week learning about shapes and different things that you can make out of shapes, for example one of the children realised you can make a house using a square for the main part and a triangle for the roof, with little squares for the windows and a rectangle for the door!

We also had a lot of fun learning to paint shapes using a paint brush and lots of wonderful colours. We even explored watercolours this week as well to everybody’s enjoyment!

We enjoyed many other shape-based activities too, including puzzles where all the children worked together to put all the shapes in the right places. This was a great team-working exercise which helped to broaden our maths and fine motor skills, as well as concentration and problem solving!

What a wonderful week we’ve had, we hope you all have a lovely long weekend and we can’t wait to see what next week has in store!
