We have had an amazing week of kindness and love, sharing and supporting each other and learning to work together.
We have practised saying nice things about each other and giving out small hand cut hearts. We have also been reading stories about “The friendliest Giant in town” a perfect example of generosity and kindness.
Our arts and crafts table has been a buzz of activity as we have woven wool around small cardboard hearts and then added leaves and flower petals to the design.
We were delighted to find a small stage and set of theatrical curtains set up in the forest one day! Our Little Forest Folk-ers put on some great shows with some of them choosing to stand up and sing, while others crept onto the stage to tell a joke… we even had a comedy duo who kept appearing and disappearing behind the curtain as the audience laughed and squealed with delight!
We had musicians who marched around the forest creating a lovely parade that grew in size as pots and pans, jingle bells, boom-wackers and maracas were played while rhythms were explored. Once the musicians had tired of their parade, some of them climbed onto the stage to perform a favourite song that Queen would be proud of… “We Will Rock You” was performed with great gusto.
Our milder weather has given us the opportunity to go on some bug hunts, as we overturned a large log and found 5 types of slugs and 3 types of centipedes - you can imagine how excited we all were to learn about the green cellar slug, the great grey slug, grey field slug, the large red slug etc. The birds were also thrilled to swoop down and sample the bountiful food supply we had unearthed.
Thank you for coming to the forest, see you next time!
