Wandsworth - From Batman to Papa Smurf

There have been so many bank holidays lately that it's becoming a bit of a ritual to start the week at Wimbledon Common. We have, as always, had an exceedingly pleasant week. So many children joyfully swayed on the swing that it became as constant as a pendulum. The spades have scooped. The crayons have created. The football has flown.

On Tuesday afternoon, we embarked on quite the odyssey. The children and educators were out in the forest for about an hour and a half, taking in all the sights it had to offer. We traversed a high hill and passed the green golf course. Making sure to stop at regular intervals to enjoy some quenching water in the twilight days of spring. The children trekked with great endurance and end enjoyment. Chattering to one another and walking with sticks as they went. They dug into a good number of snack bowls when we returned to camp. Well done everyone!

The children also had the opportunity on Wednesday to sit down and enjoy some face painting. From Batman to Papa Smurf, we've had a variety of excellent choices from the children for what they'd like to be. They all sat very patiently, awaiting their turn, giving generous praise and thanks to the educators for their work.

Another shorter week concludes at Wandsworth. It has been a pleasure to have the holiday campers as our guests for the week and they have mingled happily with the full-time children. Have a wonderful weekend all!
