Wandsworth - Lavish Lions & Ostentatious Octopuses

Starting at the common this week, the children have enjoyed all of their favourite activities. We have had many stories to go with our morning snack, with some improvised tales from our educators such as 'Wizard the Lizard' and 'How the snails got their shells.' Faces have been painted with lavish lions and ostentatious octopuses. They have dug out some of the deepest holes we've ever seen; so big that they were able to sit inside them!

On Wednesday afternoon, the children rallied at the sound of the whistle blast, behaving beautifully as we had a practice fire drill. After a direct journey to the fire safety point, we decided that the walking wouldn't end there and started an adventure walk. Along the way, the children were greeted by a multitude of adventurous sights and obstacles. The children hurdled their way over fallen logs; traversed ditches and enjoyed a peaceful snack after lapping the glistening lake.

Things got boisterous when we set up a net. The children were good about the sport, as the football was launched over and over, everyone giggled as they stood shoulder to shoulder in the goal. Some children got lucky and managed to kick the ball straight past the blockade and score some brilliant goals! We had so many children join in and participate in this that they were able to do some excellent turn-taking and sharing.

Our little adventurers have crammed a tremendous amount of fun into this shorter week. They've really enjoyed the light and warmth that is finally pushing through this spring. The swing has never stopped swaying and the camp has been alive with the sound of cheers and chatter. A very happy weekend to you all.
