Morden - Duck, Duck, Goose!

This week the team have been focusing on one of our core eco-schools values by reusing waste materials to create new products. From brave knights to beautiful butterflies and ladybugs, the children have loved getting into character with cardboard swords, shields and wings which they have decorated themselves and played with throughout the week.

Along this theme, the children have also been helping to make props for an interactive story to tell Caitlin the much-loved tale of The Hungry Caterpillar. During this group activity the children studied the illustrations in the book and helped cut out and colour a caterpillar and pieces of fruit, re-using waste card and cardboard. To the delight of everyone a real caterpillar emerged during the making of the props and the children are so excited for the story-telling next week.

Lastly, we’ve been enjoying some group games with the children such as Duck, Duck, Goose, Wake Up Mr Bear and Sticky Toffee! These group games give our little explorers an excellent opportunity to practice their listening and turn-taking skills in a fun and engaging way. We look forward to more fun next week!
