Our Ball Games theme has continued in full swing this week, supporting our learning goals of teamwork, turn-taking, and empathy—and with the glorious sunshine sticking around, we've made the most of it with energetic outdoor play and hands-on learning.
We kickstarted the week with a creative crafting session, making our very own ball-in-a-cup game! Using wool and recycled materials, our adventurers practiced their tying and fine motor skills to create small balls, then attached them to cups with string. The game became a test of hand-eye coordination, as the children aimed to land the ball back in their cup—so many cheers and determined tries!
The forest was transformed into a fun fair, complete with our homemade arcade and traditional fairground games. From the coconut shy to hoopla, hook-a-duck, and even a mini basketball challenge, each child had a turn building and resetting the stations, supporting one another, and celebrating each success. It’s been a week filled with cooperation and joyful competition!
In our Eco School, with hopes the sunshine is here to stay, we turned our attention to the garden. Our little, green-fingered adventurers began planting herbs and spring flowers, learning about what plants need to grow and how to look after them. Inspired by our new book, Yucky Worms, we delved into the wriggly world of mini beasts, learning how worms and insects help our soil and how we can support them in our budding nursery allotment.
It’s been another week filled with creativity, exploration, and joyful teamwork—we can’t wait to see what blossoms next!
Have a wonderful weekend! 🌱🎯🌼🎪
