Wimbledon has been a hive of activity this week, continuing our excitement of Spring’s arrival.
The children have taken full advantage of the sunny days, and we have spent lots of time running around the meadow, chasing our shadows a lot of the time!
We have also enjoyed some large-scale painting using a big white sheet. Our little artists used some lovely pastel colours, perfect for spring, to create amazing works of art. We painted a giant cake which we then added candles to, talking about different ages and numbers, it was a great way to incorporate maths into our art.
We have also looked more at patterns this week, using various items around the forest for inspiration, and copying their pattern onto the page. The children have learnt about different shape names and followed the lines to create them without help. It’s a great way to learn about different shapes and also develop our fine motor skills.
Other activities this week have included more adventure walks to the frog pond, a Tea Room in the mud kitchen and looking at how quickly different items can roll down different surfaces.
The sun has made for an incredible week, and we look forward to seeing lots of friends next week at our Easter Holiday camps!
