This week in Wimbledon, we have had a busy week! We started the week by playing dominoes. We used a wide variety of different objects within the forest to line up and knock over. One fan favourite was the tyres. These took a few attempts to line up before rolling them into each other and watching them fall over!
Campfires were another favourite within roleplay this week, using sticks, planks of wood and stones to create campfires! The children used their tool work skills to create different parts that integrated into their play. We compared the stones that we found, looking at the different textures, shapes, colour and sizes. We used a saw to create tiny wood cookie pieces that could act as kindling or coal and used a screwdriver to attach two or more planks together to create a larger campfire!
We had a space themed day, where we created our own rockets! We used a wide range of different resources such as cardboard tubes, pieces of card, Sellotape and egg cartons to build the best rocket that could fly into space the fastest! We explored the different stars and solar systems that we cannot see from Earth!
What a fun filled week at Wimbledon!
